Verbale transcribes on the phone, so a meeting with no connection at all still ends with a transcript, speakers and minutes. A basement room, a flight or a remote site visit makes no difference once its one-time download is done.
How it works
- Before you go, open Verbale once on Wi-Fi so it can finish its one-time download.
- At the site, in the basement or on the plane, tap record and place the phone within reach of everyone who will speak.
- Stop when the meeting ends. The phone writes the transcript and minutes itself, and you can read them in the same place with still no signal.

Privacy
Recordings, transcripts and minutes are made on your phone and never uploaded. The free tier needs no account. The app uses the network for only three things: a one-time download of its speech models, checking a subscription, and opt-in crash reports that never carry content. It has a screen that counts every network call it makes.
Questions
Can I transcribe on a plane?
Yes, as long as the one-time download was done earlier. Nothing in recording or transcribing needs a connection.
What if I forgot to download before leaving?
The first download needs a connection. Without it the app cannot yet transcribe, so open it once on Wi-Fi before a trip.
How good is a transcript from a noisy room?
It depends on the room and the microphone, and no transcript is perfect. Place the phone close to the speakers; Pro adds a larger transcriber aimed at accents and bad rooms.
Does a long meeting drain the phone?
Recording and writing the notes use the processor, so a long meeting takes battery and time. Long meetings process in the background and the phone notifies you when they are ready.
